It’s a fantasy film with a beautiful love track, says Rajamouli

Director Rajamouli says his upcoming project Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, is a fantasy film with a mythological touch.

Rajamouli, fondly called Jakkanna, says the huge-budget pan-India film has several episodes, each quite different.

Bringing them all into one film is a big challenge.

“Besides the bonding between a father and his son, it also treats the audience with a beautiful love story.”

The director’s update on the much-anticipated film has sparked curiosity among cine-goers awaiting its release.

Currently on set, filming is likely to wrap in November. After post-production in the same month, the makers plan a worldwide promotional drive on a big scale.

The movie is tentatively scheduled for release on April 7, 2027, after the post-production and promotional plans are completed.
