A state-of-the-art Static Firing Facility ‘Trinetra’ was commissioned bywea the Indian Navy at Bheemunipatnam, Visakhapatnam. This facility was inaugurated by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharka, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, on October 8.
The Static Firing Facility is indigenously designed and developed. This marks an important milestone towards self-reliance for testing weapon systems and reducing dependence on foreign OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). Additionally, this facility will help in extending the life and ensuring the sustained operational capability of the Naval Armament.
Trinetra in Bhemmunipatnam, Visakhapatnam, will facilitate recording key performance parameters of rockets, missiles, and other related systems and enable scientific assessment of the combat range of the Naval Weapon Systems. With these features, the Naval Weapon Systems will have sharper precision and reliability in completing the necessary operations.
Commissioning Trinetra is a huge achievement in the Indian Navy weapon testing infrastructure and strengthens its commitment to ‘Aatmanirbharta’ ensuring amplified combat readiness and mission capability.
