
State HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh will lay the foundation stone for the AI edge data centre and open cable landing station in Visakhapatnam on 12 October.
Sify Infinit Spaces Limited, affiliated with Sify Technologies, will develop the AI edge data centre in two phases by investing Rs. 1,500 crore.
According to a press note, the State government has allotted 3.6 acres of land in Visakhapatnam for development of the data centre.
The data centre will provide jobs to over 1,000 unemployed youth.
With decks being cleared for the establishment of data centres by Google, TCS, and Sify, Visakhapatnam is poised for a big leap in IT growth.
The State Cabinet, at its meeting on 11 October, approved the proposal for establishment of the three data centres in Visakhapatnam, and land has already been allotted for the centres.
