
Fun, joy, camaraderie, and inspiring speeches marked the Freshers’ Day (Aahwaan 2025) celebrated at Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam on 3 November evening.
One of India’s oldest and most prestigious medical institutions, the AMC, celebrated the event, welcoming 250 new medical students of the Y25 batch into its fraternity.
Commenced in the presence of distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, senior students, and the newly admitted batch with a warm welcome, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, it was a day to cherish for the new batch.
In her welcome address, Principal K V S M Sandhya Devi emphasised the AMC’s glorious legacy and urged the incoming 250 students to uphold the values of compassion, discipline, and academic excellence. Vice principals and the superintendent also delivered their encouraging messages and extended best wishes to the new batch.
Participating in the event as the guest of honour, District Collector M N Harendhira Prasad addressed the students with an inspiring message on responsibility, service, and the significance of pursuing medicine with empathy and integrity.
Vamsikrishna Srinivas, MLA, who was the chief guest, exhorted the students to aim high and contribute positively to society, praising AMC for its historic role in shaping the medical landscape of Andhra Pradesh.
A felicitation ceremony was held to honor the chief guest, the guest of honour, and key administrators, followed by the distribution of mementos to faculty members and executive committee members. Welcome gifts were presented to the freshers.
The evening transitioned into vibrant cultural performances, where students showcased their talent in music, dance, and artistic expression, reflecting the rich cultural spirit of the AMC.
