The 73rd Town Official Language Committee (TOLIC) meeting was held on 20 October, 2021 at the Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) conference hall in Vizag. During the Committee meeting, several trophies and shields were awarded, and presentations were given on the important role a language plays in a community. The meeting also discussed various issues arising in the implementation and propagation of official language in offices.
The meeting commenced with the lighting of the sacred lamp by DRM (Waltair), Anup Satpathy, who is also the Chairman of the TOLIC. The welcome address, and performance presentation, were given by Secretary (TOLIC & ADME) Waltair Division, Namonarayana Meena, and Commodore (Eastern Naval Command), Rajveer Singh. Representatives from more than 30 central government organizations attended the meeting.
As part of the Town Official Language Committee (TOLIC) meeting, six Rajbhasha Trophies, for implementation of Hindi as the official language, for the year 2019-20 were presented to Central Government offices in Vizag. Among the major best performance shields the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) bagged the first position, the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR); the second, and the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) the third position.
Three more shields were awarded in the small offices’ category. Kendriya Vidyalaya-II and Nausena Bagh bagged the first position, Fisheries Survey of India the second position and Kendriya Vidyalaya – INS Kalinga the third position.
Chairman Mr Satpathy congratulated all the shield winning offices. He advised member offices to conduct various cultural and entertainment programs in Hindi. Mr Satpathy advised encouraging employees to participate in various Hindi competitions and programmes for effective utilization of Rajbhasha.
During the same Town Official Language Committee (TOLIC) meeting in Vizag, Visakha Bharathi, an e-magazine and e-bulletin was released by the members of the TOLIC.
