Ace director SS Rajamouli lent his support to Vizag-based skater, Rana Uppalapati’s marathon cause on raising awareness for the girl child across India.
Rana Uppalapati had embarked an epic mission this September to travel across India’s Golden Quadrilateral, skating about 6000 km over a span of 90 days. The campaign is intended to spread awareness and raise support for the education of 25,000 girl children in India.
The 37-year-old has been skating across India’s golden triangle for the past couple of months participating awareness seminars being be held at different points along his journey. The skater has also been educating children about safeguarding themselves against child sexual abuse.
The funds raised through the campaign will be transferred to the NGOs, Nanhi Kali and IMPACT, which work towards child education and have centres spread all over India.
Supporting Rana’s cause, film director SS Rajamouli recently took to social media and urged people to do their bit for the campaign.
“Witness Rana Uppalapati’s journey as he raises awareness about “good touch, bad touch” in association with Young Indians, and garners support for the education of underprivileged girl children. See people from his eyes. Hear their stories and contribute NOW!” Rajamouli wrote in a post he shared on Friday.
Rana, who is an entrepreneur and skater, was recently in Vizag spreading awareness and gaining momentum for his epic journey. Skating to create awareness om various social issues, the Vizagite holds credit for championing several campaigns in the past as well.
