Dasara: Online single window to clear pandal applications in Vizag

The Visakhapatnam city police, in coordination with the GVMC and the departments of public health, town planning, fire services, and electricity, have initiated a web portal — https:/durgautsav.net — for granting permission through a single window to put up Durga utsav pandals in the city.

Organisers of the Durga Utsav festivities should furnish their details in the portal for getting clearance for pandals in Visakhapatnam. The authorities concerned verify the details and issue a QR code, which should be displayed at the pandal, according to a press note issued by the police department.

It has also issued a list of dos and don’ts for the organisers.

The organisers have been advised to take utmost care while providing power supply to pandals. Services of only certified engineers should be used for power-related works. There should be no explosives in the pandal areas.

Similarly, idols should be immersed in the areas identified for the purpose.

The city police have appealed to the public to follow the guidelines and cooperate with the authorities concerned.
