Postal Department offers Aadhar services in Vizag division

As a part of the National Postal Week, being observed from 6 October, the Department of Posts, Visakhapatnam division, is organising Aadhaar camps across the division from 8 to 14 October to provide convenient Aadhaar enrolment and update services to the public.

Camps are being arranged at various post offices and selected public places including identified schools, residential colonies and gated communities, ensuring that citizens have easy access to Aadhaar services close to their homes. Mobile Aadhaar camps will also be set up at identified locations within the division to further enhance outreach.

Aadhaar enrolment services will be provided free of cost. Mandatory biometric updates (MBU) will also be offered free of cost to children in the age group of 5 to 7 years and 15 to 17 years. In addition, UIDAI has waived the charges for MBU-1 updates for children aged 7 to 15 years for a period of one year, effective from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026.

During the week-long campaign, Aadhaar enrolment, demographic and biometric updates, as well as MBU services will be available to all citizens. In addition, the department will utilise this opportunity to promote financial inclusion by facilitating the opening of post office savings bank accounts, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana accounts for girl children below 10 years, and Public Provident Fund accounts for boys.

The department appeals to the general public, particularly students and youth, to avail of this facility and benefit from the Aadhaar and financial services being made available through the camps.
