Police say ‘no’ to Jagan roadshow

The police have denied permission for the proposed roadshow of former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy from the airport to Makavarapalem in Anakapalle district, Vizag on 9 October.

Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to visit Makavarapalem to inspect the ongoing construction work of a medical college there.

City police commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi said that no permission was given to the roadshow of the former Chief Minister, keeping in view security concerns.

Pointing out that the Vizag police in big numbers have to be deployed at the PM Palem stadium, where a match between India and South Africa was slated for 9 October, he said: “It will be difficult for the police to provide security to the former Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, YSRCP leaders are going ahead with their arrangements for Jagan, their leader’s roadshow.

The leaders have applied for permission for Jagan Mohan Reddy’s travel from Visakhapatnam airport to Makavarapalem by road.

The Anakapalle police too denied permission for the road travel, stating that it would cause inconvenience to the people.
