State HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has reiterated that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, VSP, will not be privatised.
Participating in a discussion on industries and investments in the Legislative Council, Lokesh made it clear that there was no move to privatise the plant.
Reminding that the Centre has announced the revival package of Rs. 11,400 crore, the IT Minister opined that the steel plant would be back on track with the aid and improve its production capacity.
Lokesh alleged that the YSRCP was misleading the people on the steel plant issue by making false propaganda. The YSRCP should know the facts and stop indulging in such a campaign, he said.
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy for their initiative to save the steel plant.
Later, the TDP introduced a resolution thanking the Centre for coming to the rescue of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by announcing a huge revival package. The resolution was passed unanimously as the YSRCP also supporting it.
