Aiming at making every woman in the State self-reliant, the State government has initiated several measures to achieve the goal, according to State Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas. Speaking at the inauguration of the All India DWACRA Bazaar 2025 (SARAS exhibition) at the AU Engineering College grounds in Visakhapatnam on 15 December, the Minister said that exhibitions of this kind were being organised to provide marketing facilities for the products made by women of SHGs.
Pointing out that business to the tune of Rs 12 crore was generated at the SARAS exhibition held in Vizianagaram recently, the Minister hoped the Vizag exhibition would surpass this figure. The next fair would be organised in Guntur, said the Minister.
District Collector M N Harendhira Prasad said, “This is a wonderful programme. We are proud to organise it in Visakhapatnam. We have set up 250 stalls. Bankers and NABARD have extended their support to the women.”
Visakha East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu also spoke.
