Special Train Being Launched From VSP to Araku For the Holidays

The East Coast Railway (ECoR) is launching a special train from Visakhapatnam to Araku and vice versa. The special train is being launched so as to help clear the rush of tourists to Araku during this season.

The special train no. 08511 will be operated on December 24, 25 & 31 of 2016 and January 1 of 2017. The Visakhapatnam-Araku passenger special will be leaving Visakhapatnam on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 AM to reach Araku by 11.50 AM. The return train no. 08512 Araku-Visakhapatnam passenger special will also leave Araku on Saturdays and Sundays, but at 12.45 PM and reach Visakhapatnam at 4.20 PM.

These trains will stop on the way at Simhachalam, Kottavalasa, S Kota and Borraguhalu. The special train leaving from Visakhapatnam will reach Simhachalam at 8.15 AM, Kottavalasa at 8.30 AM, S Kota at 8.45 AM and Borraguhalu at 10.25 AM. The return train will reach Borraguhalu at 1.45 PM, S Kota at 3.23 PM, Kottavalasa at 3.40 PM and Simhachalam at 3.55 PM.

Consisting of eight general class and two second class cum luggage coaches, these trains will bear the brunt of the visiting tourists and be useful as they run especially on weekends. For those wanting to get away with their family and friends during the holidays, while going to Araku by road is also a beautiful option, the train ride there from Visakhapatnam is breathtaking and much recommended.
