After grossing Rs. 229 crore (worldwide) in the first week of its release, Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise Part 1, continues its box office collection momentum. Christmas being a national holiday worked in its favour, resulting in an impressive growth at the box office, particularly in the Hindi version. With this, Pushpa is the only film to receive over 25 lakh footfalls after Sooryavanshi in 2021.
As per trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, Pushpa: The Rise Part 1 box office collections are climbing by the day, even during the second week of its release. He adds that this is evident with a 62.34 percent growth from the Friday figures as the film notched, from Rs 2.31 crore on Friday to Rs 3.75 crore on Saturday, and the Christmas holiday seems to have played a major factor in the collections. Adarsh adds that the film was doing well in both multiplexes and single screens leading to Rs 32.95 crore in total. The major contributor in the collection has been Maharashtra, where a ‘historic run’ was underway for the film.
Reportedly, in the international – overseas market, Pushpa earned $ 2 million at the box office in the United States of America. The makers also claimed that Pushpa is the first South Indian film to reach this milestone in 2021.
It should be noted that Hollywood blockbuster – Spider-Man: No Way Home and Bollywood star-studded film – 83, are also running in theatres at the moment. Despite this, the action drama, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandana in a never-before-seen avatar, continues to collect big at the box office.
