Applications invited for postal scholarships

To generate interest in philately among students, the Department of Posts has launched the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana, a philately scholarship scheme.

Under the scheme, scholarships will be awarded to students of Classes 6 to 9 based on their performance in a philately written quiz and a philately project. Participating students should either have a philately club in their school or a philately deposit account. Students who secured 60% marks in the 2026 examination are eligible for scholarships. However, students belonging to the SC and ST categories will have 5% relaxation.

The selection process consists of two levels: a philately written quiz and a philately project. The written quiz will be conducted on September 30, and the last date to submit applications is September 16. Students who qualify at Level 1 have to submit a philately project. The top 40 candidates at Level 2 will be awarded a scholarship of Rs. 600 per annum.

Interested students have been requested to send their applications to the Postmaster General, Visakhapatnam Region, MVP Colony Post Office, Visakhapatnam – 530017, on or before September 16. For further details, candidates can approach their nearest post office.
