Road travel of Jagan allowed with conditions

After initial denial of permission for the road travel of former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy from Visakhapatnam airport to Makavarapalem on 9 October, the police now allowed it with certain conditions.

The former Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Makavarapalem by road to inspect the construction of a medical college building there.

According to Visakhapatnam city police commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi, the former Chief Minister’s convoy should go to Makavarapalem via NAD Kotha Road, Vepagunta and Saripalli, and no changes are allowed in it.

He has made it clear that mobilisation of people and rallies are strictly prohibited.

Meanwhile, the Narsipatnam police reviewed security arrangements for the visit of the former Chief Minister.

Former MLA Uma Shankar Ganesh and other YSRCP leaders visited the site where the medical college is coming up.

It may be mentioned here that the YSRCP has alleged irregularities in the construction of medical colleges, accusing the Alliance government of privatising them.

The party called for an agitation on the issue, and its chief Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to tour the State to take part in the fight against the government.
