Tributes paid to police martyrs in Vizag

Rich tributes were paid to the police martyrs at an event held on Beach Road in Visakhapatnam to mark Police Commemoration Day on 21 October.

Lauding the services of the police personnel who had lost their lives while on duty, City Commissioner of Police Shanka Brata Bagchi listed the welfare schemes being implemented.

“Priority is being given to the provision of basic amenities to the police. Focusing more on health, medical tests are being conducted every year,” said the CP.

Earlier, District Collector M N Harendhira Prasad and the CP paid floral tributes to martyrs at the police memorial on Beach Road.

In the neighbouring district of Anakapalle, District Collector Vijay Krishnan was all praise for the dedication of the police in maintaining law and order. “It is our responsibility to remember the police martyrs,” said the District Collector while paying tributes to the police martyrs at a programme held in the town.

District SP and other police officials participated in the programme, marking the Police Commemoration Day.
