Several children reportedly spotted suspicious men, dressed in black camouflage uniform, carrying ammunition and a heavy sac bag near the Uran Navy Base in Raigad, Mumbai. The students of UES informed their principal and shortly after the local Police were alerted.

The children claimed that they saw 5-6 armed men near the navy base, putting the Indian Navy on highest alert. “I am only confirming that Navy is at a high state of alert after getting this input regarding suspicious activity reported by some school children in Karanja near Mumbai,” said captain DK Sharma, spokesperson of Indian Navy.

The schools were asked to be closed down due to the nature of information being highly sensitive. Deputy commissioner of police Dilip Sawant stated that so far nothing had been found. Security have also been tightened up at sensitive locations along the coast, including the Gateway of India, Raj Bhawan, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay High (rig), and other major establishments near the sea.
