To facilitate smooth, safe and comfortable travel for passengers during the ensuing Holi festival, East Coast Railway has made comprehensive arrangements to manage the expected surge in passenger traffic. As part of these measures, East Coast Railway has planned to operate 62 Holi Special Trains from its jurisdiction during March 2026, connecting major destinations across different parts of the country.
These special train services are being introduced in anticipation of increased passenger demand during the festive period, particularly from passengers travelling to their hometowns and important cultural, religious and commercial destinations. The initiative reflects East Coast Railway’s proactive approach towards ensuring enhanced connectivity and minimising inconvenience to passengers during peak travel periods.
The Holi Special Trains will connect key destinations including Sambalpur–Erode, Visakhapatnam–Tirupati, Visakhapatnam–SMVB Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam–Charlapalli, Visakhapatnam–Shalimar, Puri–Patna, Puri–Udna, Bhubaneswar–Yeshvantpur and Bhubaneswar–Dhanbad, among others, thereby catering to travel needs across southern, eastern, central and northern regions of the country.
In addition to the planned services, East Coast Railway will continuously monitor passenger demand and introduce additional special trains or augment services wherever required to ensure maximum passenger convenience and seamless travel during the festive rush.
East Coast Railway remains committed to providing safe, efficient and passenger-friendly services, especially during major festivals, through meticulous planning, strengthened operational preparedness and effective crowd management measures. Passengers are advised to check train schedules, halts and booking availability through authorised railway enquiry systems and IRCTC platforms for the latest updates.
