Swiggy India 2017 order analysis: Chicken Biryani tops the list of the most ordered food items in 2017

Online food delivery platforms have started to become an integral part of the lives of those who live in the metro cities. From offering a wide range of delicious food items to making a hassle-free delivery at our doorsteps, these platforms have struck a chord with many individuals.

As the number of users continues to grow day by day, food ordering and delivering platform Swiggy has revealed some interesting analysis for all of us. Much to the delight of all the biryani aficionados, it has been learned that Chicken Biryani is the most ordered food item online in 2017. The order analysis, which was done for seven cities- Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, and Kolkata- has once again proved that Chicken Biryani continues to be a huge crowd favourite.

Apart from Chicken Biryani, the list of top 5 most ordered items in 2017 includes Masala Dosa, Butter Naan, Tandoori Roti and Paneer Butter Masala.

It has also been learned that Pizzas were the most searched on this popular food ordering and delivery platform. As a matter of fact, Swiggy revealed that this trademark Italian dish was searched as many as 5 lac times!

As per a report in The News Minute, the other insights gained through the analytics are:

Masala Dosa, Idli, and Vada rule breakfast menus for most Indians while for lunch and dinner, they preferred biryanis that include chicken, mutton, and vegetable followed by paneer butter masala and masala dosa, dal makhani and chicken fried rice. In 2017, Indians munched the most on pav bhaji, french fries, samosas, chicken roll, chicken burger and bhel puri during snack time.
