This is definitely going to be great news for all those looking for jobs in Vizag, especially in the IT sector. A few Japanese companies have come forward to recruit students from the city, under the initiative ‘Look for Employees in Andhra Pradesh’ (LEAP) launched by the State Government.
Four companies, AI Tokyo Lab & Co (a group company of Satudora Holdings), Denso International India Pvt. Ltd, En-Japan Inc and Global Asset Community Co. Ltd, participated in the recruitment drive held in the city. Reportedly, Global Asset Community Co. Ltd, which was supposed to take part an observer, also conducted interviews.
The companies held a preliminary interview for the interested candidates at GITAM deemed to be university on Monday and Tuesday. Reportedly, the drive has gained a motivating response with close 1300 applications from about 19 select colleges. The Japanese companies have shortlisted 298 students for the first phase of recruitment. While 33 students have been selected for the interviews, one among them was shortlisted for the recruitment.
AP Innovation Society CEO, Winny Patro, informed The Hindu that in the first phase of recruitment, the Japanese companies will recruit 30 students from Vizag for jobs and depending on their requirement, will train them accordingly. He also revealed that the companies have promised to visit Vizag for the next round of recruitment in September if the performance of the recruited students is satisfactory.
