Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu likely to visit Visakhapatnam

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is likely to visit Visakhapatnam district on 14 October. Mr Naidu is expected to take part in a ceremony by the family members of Late TDP leader Kidari Sarveswara Rao.

The full details of the CM’s visit to Visakhapatnam are yet to be known.

Meanwhile, IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh will be visiting Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. Lokesh will be visiting Paderu on Wednesday to console the family members of Kidari Sarveswara Rao. Following this, the minister will then proceed to Araku to meet the family of Siveru Somu.

Last month, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited Araku in Vizag district to pay homage to the recently murdered politicians, Kidari Sarveswara Rao and Siveru Somu. After offering floral tributes to the deceased, the Chief Minister interacted with the concerned families and offered his condolences.

In addition to providing financial aid of Rs 5 lakh each to all the family members of the slain, Chandrababu Naidu also announced that the state would be providing a Group One job to one of Rao’s sons and a site for house construction in Vizag.

MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former MLA Siveri Soma were brutally killed in a Maoist attack a few days ago in Araku of Vizag district.

It was reported that the vehicle of the leaders was stopped by the attackers, who forced them to get down. Weapons of the three security officers, comprising two 9mm pistols and 9mm carbine, were seized by the Maoists giving them no chance to open fire. Subsequently, the two leaders were taken a few meters away from the vehicle and were shot down point black with hands tied.
