Avoid delays, act responsibly: Vizag Collector on PGRS complaints

Vizag District Collector M N Harendhira Prasad instructed officials that the public should not be inconvenienced during the process of resolving grievances submitted through the PGRS platform, and that superficial actions should be avoided.

On Monday, during the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) held at the Collectorate, people submitted 299 petitions on various issues. Of these, 132 belonged to the Revenue department, 76 to GVMC, 24 to the Police department, and 67 to other departments. District Collector M N Harendhira Prasad, In-charge DRO Satti Babu, and Visakhapatnam In-charge RDO received petitions from the public. District-level officials from all departments participated.

He warned against making people run around to various offices, behaving disrespectfully towards them, or making them wait for hours. He suggested that the Municipal Administration and Revenue departments need to change their working methods and resolve complaints effectively, in accordance with the ground realities. The Vizag collector advised RDOs and Tahsildars to review their actions. He stated that officials should act responsibly and work with accountability. The district collector said that everyone has a minimum responsibility to inform the public about the status of their complaints. He suggested that the Survey, Revenue, and Municipal Administration departments should review the complaints they receive and the actions taken.
