
The Skater from Visakhapatnam have proven their talent with the wheels and made the country proud by winning laurels at the 18th Asians Roller Skating Championship. The Championship was held at Namwon South Korea from 04-10 September 2018.
Ranking as the Asia No 2 and World No 5, the pair Farheen Shaik and Arun Kumar have bagged a silver in the pair skating category at the Championship.
In the figure skating category, K Mahesh Verma and K Mohan Kiran have won the silver medal while P Harikamal secured the bronze medal. In the free category, K Vaihsnav Venam secured a silver and B Anmisha roped the silver medal in the inline Category.
D Venu Vardhan stood 4th, Ch Meghana at 4th and Priyam Tatad stood at 6th in their respective categories. Riya Saboo from Krishna District bagged a bronze in the pair category.
A gold medal was also roped in by A Sai Samhitha from Visakhapatnam in the free skating category.
A total 19 countries and 1000 skaters participated in various discipline. The Indian Contingent of 165 consisted 29 skaters of Artistic from Discipline and 12 have participated from Andhra Pradesh.
The two coaches from AP, P. Satyanarayana and A. Pavan Kumar, have represented as the Indian Team coaches and they have worked hard to put the country in front.
