
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced that MoUs worth Rs. 2.66 lakh crore have been signed in Visakhapatnam even before the commencement of the CII partnership summit.
Speaking at the meeting held on the proposed Visakha Economic Region, in Visakhapatnam on 13 November, the Chief Minister pointed out that Visakhapatnam was one among the four cities chosen by the Centre for preparation of a vision document.
The Chief Minister, who, along with Niti Ayog CEO Subrahamanyam, released the Visakha Economic Region Development document, said the proposed body would become a driving force for Andhra Pradesh.
Alleging that the previous government destroyed the State economy, Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the Alliance government could attract investments to the tune of Rs. 20 lakh crores in just 17 months.
In the capacity of the chairman of the Visakha Economic Region Authority, he himself would review the progress every month, said Chandrababu Naidu, adding that Visakhapatnam would be made a global investment destination.
