India Wins the Second Test Series Against England

India won in an iconic test match against England today. The second test series being held in Andhra Pradesh  (Visakhapatnam) for the first time, saw India win its 15th consecutive test match.

India sealed its victory when it scored 158 in 97.3 on its final day. India beat England by 246 runs while England lost their last eight wickets on just 66 runs on the last day today, losing 5 in the morning and three more after lunch. Kohli was named ‘Man of the Match’ after scoring 167 and 81.

Indian spinners shined well today, with even captain Virat Kohli heaping praises. Debutant Jayant Yadav who took three wickets was praised by Kohli, “It’s always priceless those contributions and it speaks volumes of his character. For a young guy to come in and tell his captain the field he wants, the line and length he would bowl, it shows he knows what he is doing. I’m really happy for him.” Yadav had displayed good batting talent too previously. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja also deserve credit for their part in India’s win.

Speaking about playing in Vizag, he said, “It’s been a lucky ground for me and it remains a special ground, similar feel I get to Adelaide. You want to play exciting cricket because so many people come to watch. They help you through tough situations.”

The first test in Rajkot was a draw and the third starts in Mohali on November 26.
