Sushma Swaraj to the Rescue

Recently, the plight of thousands of Indian workers in the Middle East made a round in the news. The External Affairs Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj tweeted that thousands of workers are facing a food crisis in the gulf states of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Oman. She appealed to the three million Indians living there to help their fellow countrymen.  And, now they are organizing the return of 7,700 laborers working there and have set up food camps for them.

While the world has always been aware of the torture faced by the laborers, they are still unaware of the plight faced by the wives of those workers. They live in India and have never been to their husband’s workplace. According to a survey conducted in Tamil Nadu, the women are unaware about the problems faced by their husbands which are causing a lot of anxiety in them. They are constantly worried about their home loans, children’s health and education. The actual reasons for which the male bread earner had to leave home in the first place.

Smt. Sushma Swaraj is making the best of her social media platforms. She has won the hearts of all the Indians when she brought back Geeta, a young differently impaired Indian girl, from Pakistan. Geeta was actually stranded for 10 years and was losing hope of seeing her family again.

Smt. Swaraj was also instrumental in bringing back almost 1000 Indians from the war torn country of Sudan through Mission “Sankat Mochan“. The Hon’ble Minister has appealed to a number of officials and diplomats (both Indian and foreign) to help out Indians outside the country. The rescue operation of laborers in the Gulf countries is her top priority now.

Yo! Vizag applauds the initiatives being taken by Smt. Swaraj and the Modi Government…just to help our very own “apne”.
