Ticket prices reduced for the India-West Indies ODI in Vizag

In what comes as a great news to the cricket lovers in Vizag, the Andhra Cricket Association has decided to cut down the prices of the tickets for the ODI between India and West Indies. Intended to attract larger crowds to the stadium, the move comes a breather to the pockets of many fans.

While the Rs 6000 ticket has been repriced to Rs 4000, the Rs 35000 ticket has been slashed down to Rs 2500. The other tickets will be sold at Rs 1200, Rs 800, Rs 750 and Rs 500.

Of the total 27,500 seats in the stadium, a sum of 24,000 seats will be on sale for the general public while the remaining will be allocated for complimentary passes. The tickets, which will be going on sale from 15 October, can either be availed online from www.eventsnow.com or purchased from any one of the 10 centres that will be selling them in the city.

Scheduled to be played on 24 October, the game will mark the 2nd match of the ODI series between the two teams. The cricket match was originally supposed to be played at the Holkar stadium in Indore. However, a dispute between the BCCI and the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Board over complementary tickets called for a change of venue.

Vizag last played host to an ODI between India and Sri Lanka in December 2017. The game witnessed Shikhar Dhawan batter the Islanders with a blistering century as the home side cruised home to victory.

West Indies will play 5 ODIs against India starting on 21 October. The first cricket match in the 50-over format will be played in Guwahati. The two teams have currently locked horns in a two-match Test series, which began on 4 October in Rajkot.
