The horrific facts behind the coloured soda drinks in Vizag

A lot of people love to have coloured soda cool drinks which give a splendid taste and helps in quenching thirst, especially during summers. But, the story behind the preparation of such drinks and the water which is being used by the soda sellers in Vizag might give horrid nightmare for the soda lovers.

Soda cool drinks are being sold in different places of Vizag, mainly at Kancharapalem, Gopalapatnam, Maddilapalem, Jalarapeta and at some old places in the city. The bottles used for the drinks are reported to be the ones which are previously used in wine shops for selling alcohol. The sellers of the cool drinks are reported to be filling them with cool drinks without even caring to clean them, let alone the fact of how harmful it is to use them.

The places where the cool drinks are being prepared lack cleanliness. The sellers use municipal water which is stored in tanks occupied with slime, dust, ants and other insects. One can find fungus, sand and strands of hair floating in the water. Moreover, the centres, where the soda cool drinks are prepared do not hold the permissions from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. The bottles are bought from the wine shops for Rs 1 and Rs 4 in rural areas. The soda sellers sell the bottle with drinks for Rs 7 outside. It has been also reported that, after consuming the drinks, people are being affected by diarrhea and sever vomitings.

Spread a word to your close ones about the harmful soda drinks and ask them to report if they come across any of such products being sold outside. We urge everybody to avoid such harmful drinks, be careful about the food you are consuming outside and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
