Five held in job fraud case

The Gajuwaka police arrested five persons, including the two main accused, on the charge of duping a couple to the tune of Rs. 91 lakh.

According to the police, Vinayaka Rao, a B.Tech graduate of Gajuwaka, and his wife Alekhya, a nursing student, were promised jobs in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by their relatives Sajani and Narayana, for which they demanded Rs. 50 lakh each from the couple.

Convinced by their gullible talk, the couple gave Rs. 91.30 lakh to their relatives in phases over a period of time.

Later, the accused stopped responding and switched off their mobiles.

Realising that they had been cheated, the wife and husband approached the police on 30 September.

The police, who registered a case, arrested the main accused and three others who helped them in the purchase of properties with the amount.

While Sajani bought two plots in Pedagantyada, Narayana purchased heavy vehicles with the amount taken from the couple.
