Heavy rainfall hits Vizag due to Daye Cyclone

The deep depression formed in the Bay of Bengal has turned to a cyclone and has been named as “Daye”. Due to Daye Cyclone, the city of Vizag has received a heavy rainfall on Thursday night. Here is the update of the Vizag weather.

The cyclone has triggered heavy downpour and fast winds in the North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Many areas in Vizag have received 40-50mm of rainfall during the cyclone landfall. As per the reports, 4.1 cm of rainfall in DC Colony, 3.5 cm at the Vizag  Airport, 3.37 in Akkireddypalem, 31.5 cm in Gangavaram and Pedhagantyada, 3.02 cm in Gajuwaka and 2 to 3 cm of rainfall has been recorded in other parts of the city on Thursday. The power supply department of AP has mentioned that they have suffered minor losses to the electricity supply network.

As per the latest reports, cyclone Daye has crossed the South Odisha coast near Gopalpur weakening into a deep depression and now entering Chhattisgarh.

Moderate windspeeds ranging from 40-60km/hr might circulate along Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh for the next 12 hours.
