
About 100 train services that run through Andhra Pradesh, including those crossing through Visakhapatnam, have been cancelled in the wake of Cyclone Montha.
While the East Coast Railway has cancelled 43 trains, the South Central Railway authorities have announced cancellation of as many as 54 services on 27, 28 and 29 October.
The cancelled trains from Visakhapatnam include Godavari Express, Garibrath, AP Superfast Express, and the Tirupati-bound double-decker.
Passengers have been advised to check the status before their journey.
In other news, Special Cyclone Officer for Visakhapatnam and Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain have ordered the officials to be on high alert in the wake of Cyclone Montha and take precautions to prevent even a minor accident. Read more about it here: Ensure zero casualty: special officer
