Bharat Forge expresses interest to invest in AP

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said the State, with its long coastline, is the right place for undertaking shipbuilding and tourism projects. The Chief Minister expressed the view when Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman of leading industrial giant Bharat Forge, who arrived in Visakhapatnam for an investment conference, met him on the night of 12 November.

Amit Kalyani informed Chandrababu Naidu that the company was interested in shipbuilding as well as advanced electronics production in the State. He said that they intend to undertake advanced electronic sensor production near Tirupati. Amit Kalyani also told the Chief Minister that he was ready to invest in some projects in the tourism sector. He was also interested in undertaking the river cruise project at Gandikota.

Responding to this, the Chief Minister said that there were vast opportunities for the construction of commercial ships as well as defence ships. The government would provide full support to the projects and investments undertaken by Bharat Forge.

The Chief Minister further said that there were wide opportunities for the establishment of water sports. “To give a boost to the tourism sector, we are also encouraging the construction of hotels in various parts of the State,” said the Chief Minister.

After the meeting, the Chief Minister felicitated Amit Kalyani with a shawl.
