Gaurang Shah and Carol Gracias made history on day two of Lakme Fashion Week, Summer Resort. Carol Gracias walked for the designer, wearing a green and pink sari that is a blend of traditional Indian textiles and vintage silhouettes. But what stole the show was the baby bump she was beautifully sporting. The cat-walk is synonymous with stereotypical ideals of beauty and the act of a pregnant model walking the ramp is a celebration of positive body image. Carol is a regular on Gaurang’s shows and it is a progressive move on the part of the designer to hire her despite her pregnancy.
