Andhra Pradesh govt. to organize mass house warming party across Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram

Around 2.5 lakhs people will come together for house warming by the Andhra Pradesh govt. conducted enmasse across Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram.

Beneficiaries of the different housing schemes of Andhra Pradesh govt in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam will participate in a mass house warming ceremony. In February, an auspicious date will be selected for this event and Andhra Pradesh govt will hold the program across 13 districts of the state. A similar event was conducted with 1 lakh beneficiaries last year in October with Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu. As per The Times of India, AP State Housing Corporation project director for Vizag GV Prasad said, “The ceremony will be held in the first week of February. The date is yet to be fixed. Nearly 7,000 houses in Vizag would be covered in the ceremony.”

The various schemes under which the housing schemes have been undertaken in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam and other places are NTR Housing Scheme (rural), Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (rural) and Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (urban). Subsidies have also been given under various schemes and the infrastructure is from fiscal year 2016-2017.

Further plans for building at least 17.40 lakh houses for underprivileged sections, including 12 lakh in rural areas, at a total cost of Rs 50,000 crore by the end of 2019 is on the cards. The grand house warming ceremony is a huge event for the people for whom owning a house is difficult to put up one finally.
