Highlights from the Andhra Pradesh Vote On Account Budget 2019

Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, presented the state budget for the financial year 2019-20 in the Assembly on Tuesday morning. The expected revenue expenditure is Rs. 1,80,369.33 and the expected capital expenditure is Rs. 29,596.53 out of which, Rs. 8,994 crores will be used towards the repayment of public debt.

Yanamala proposed the budget with an expenditure of Rs.2,26,177.53 crores. Here are a few highlights from Andhra Pradesh budget announced.

Highlights from the Andhra Pradesh Budget 2019

  • The State Government has introduced a new scheme ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ with a budget of about Rs.5,000 crores. It is a scheme similar to Telangana’s Rythu Bandhu under which, Rs 10,000 will be given per acre in two installments in a year.
  • The overall estimated cost for the construction of Amaravati is Rs 1,09,023 crores.
  • Rs 1,200 crores allocated for NTR Vaidya Seva, which is Rs.200 crores more than the amount allocated in the last budget.
  • The Andhra Pradesh budget for 2019-20 allocates Rs 10,032 crores for medical and health department.
  • Rs 29,955 crores allocated for Human Resources and Development.
  • Unemployment allowance, which is currently Rs.1,000 per month, has been increased to Rs 2,000 per month. Rs 1200 crores have been allocated for this scheme.
  • Minority welfare gets an allocation of Rs 1,304 crores.
  • Rs 70 crores have been allocated for the welfare of differently abled in the state budget.
  • Rs 1006 crores allocated for IT sector, Rs 918 crores for law department, Rs. 149 crores for the Assembly.
  • Rs 600 crores allocated under the Fibregrid project.
  • Rs 1,668 crores allocated for the Vizag-Chennai industrial corridor.
  • Rs 5000 crores allocated in the state budget for the NTR Bharosa pension scheme.
