INS Karna Commissioned in Visakhapatnam

The only base of Marine Commando Force called ‘INS Karna’ has been commissioned in Visakhapatnam by Admiral Sunil Lamba, Chief of Naval Staff. A ceremony that was held at the Naval Base at Bheemunipatnam commenced with a stunning parade. MARCOS (Marine Commandos) is a frontier operational force trained for three dimensional air, land and sea warfare. The commissioning plaque was unveiled by the wife of Admiral, Reena Lamba. A number of officers in charge of the MARCOS unit and families were present on the occasion. INS Karna will now add a new dimension to the Special Forces of Indian Navy as they keep their ‘steel sharp and power dry’ as directed by their Chief of Naval Staff.
