
A mega convention centre is soon going to be set up in Vizag by the state government. The convention centre will be built to accommodate around 10,000 people and will provide various services like an integrated sports complex. It will also house major universities and colleges like IIMs, NITs and IITs which will help in promoting the growth of the hospitality sector for meetings and conferences in Vizag. The convention centre will be built at Madhurawada.
An Exhibition centre of 50,000 sq.ft. Area is also being planned under this project to promote tourism.
A similar plan is given out for Vijayawada and Tirupati. The main aim of the government is to develop Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation and make it into an educational hub for major schools, colleges and universities.
The Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (ICAP) has already released an action plan for the project.
