Telugu Film Festival To Be Hosted In Vizag

This year, the first Telugu talkie movie, Bhakta Prahlada will complete 85 years. To celebrate the completion of 85 years, the Vizag Film Society (VFS) is going to conduct a three- day Telugu film festival at the Public Library Hall.

Bhakta Prahlada was released on 15th September, 1931 and became an instant hit amongst the people and was appreciated by the Telugu Film Industry. The film was made on a budget of Rs. 18,000 and was directed by H H Reddy.

Some of the movies to be screened in the film festival are “Malli Pelli” which released in the year 1939 directed by Y V Rao. It will be screened on 21st September. “Rangula Kala”(1983) will be screened on 22nd September. “Chandamama Kathalu” will be screened on 23rd September which is a national film awardee.

The film festival will be inaugurated by actor Gollapudi Maruthi Rao and the entry is free.
