Residents of Lakshmi Nagar, in the Velampeta area in Vizag, can heave a sigh of relief, as the government has approved the construction of houses for 177 families living in the Lakshmi Nagar slum.
Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, P Narayana, has approved the construction of houses. The announcement was made during a meeting between the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) and Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority on Friday. The decision was taken following a discussion with CM Chandrababu Naidu.
In December, Narayana visited the Velampeta area, where he engaged with residents of the slums. During his visit, the communities shared their challenges, highlighting the significant difficulties and hardships they face in their daily lives due to inadequate housing conditions.
