This month has come as a blessing to cricket fans as Visakhapatnam is gearing up for another big cricket match. Vizag is all set to host the newly crowned Women’s ODI World Cup champions as they will play the opening matches of the Women T20 series against Sri Lanka on 21 and 23 December. The two high-stakes T20 matches will take place at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, which recently underwent an elaborate renovation. The 25,000-seater stadium hosted the men’s ODI against South Africa on December 6, following the upgrade.
Continuing the excitement, AP Minister of Education and IT Minister, Nara Lokesh, added to the buzz with a post on social media.
Building on the anticipation, the Indian women’s cricket team will be arriving in Vizag on December 17. A multi-layered high security, including women police officers, has been deployed for the event to ensure the safety of the team from the moment they arrive in the city.
Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi stated that enhanced security arrangements will be present at the physical ticket counters. Multiple ticketing options, including e-tickets, physical tickets, and M-tickets, are made available for convenience. CCTV surveillance will be happening at all times in the parking area.
The tickets for the Women T20 matches in Vizag are available on District (Zomato). The prices range from Rs 200 to Rs 400 depending on seating.
