Visakhapatnam suicide pact: Girl dies after battling for life

The recent suicide pact, that came to light at Kailasigiri in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, has witnessed a depressing end. While 26-year-old Satyanarayana died on the spot, 22-year-old Kamala, who was admitted to a hospital after consuming poison, breathed her last on Monday morning while being treated at King Geroge Hospital in Visakhapatnam.

The deceased used to reside at Dayal Nagar in Visakhapatnam. Kamala’s demise has left her area of residence in dismay. The young woman, who used to work at a store in Gajuwaka, took the extreme after elders reportedly did not agree to her marriage to Satyanarayana. The family though had no idea of Kamala’s intentions and had to rush to the hospital after getting a call from police on Sunday. Sadly, the doctors’ efforts at the hospital proved to be futile as Kamala succumbed to the intake of poison.

In case you didn’t know, the walkers at Kailasagiri alerted the police after finding the couple in a worrying state on Sunday morning. Preliminary investigation by Visakhapatnam police revealed that both Satyanarayana and Kamala had attempted a suicide pact and consumed beverages laced with pesticide. Both the individuals are natives of Adaru, a village under Veeraghattam Mandal, in Srikakulam district and had resided neighbours.
