One of Tollywood‘s popular directors will soon be seen in a new avatar. Known for directing successful films like ‘Aadi’, ‘Tagore’ and ‘Khaidi No 150’ among others, director VV Vinayak is all set to debut as a lead actor. To be produced by ‘Dil’ Raju, the film is reportedly based on the life of a middle-aged man and will mark a new chapter in the filmmaker’s journey in the Telugu film industry.
Producer ‘Dil’ Raju, along with director Vamshi Paidipally and others, visited Tirupati to offer prayers to Lord Venkateswara on the occasion of the success of his latest film Maharshi. Speaking to media persons in Tirupati, the seasoned film producer confirmed his collaboration with VV Vinayaka. “Our banner, ‘Sri Venkateswara Creations’, was launched with the film ‘Dil’ 16 years ago. Recently, I was told about a script. While looking for a suitable actor who could fit into the lead role, we decided that director VV Vinayak, who first introduced me as a producer, would be an apt choice for the same. The script was also narrated to Vinayak and he asked me to announce the news in the Lord’s presence here in Tirupati. We are confident of launching him as a lead actor with a good film,” ‘Dil’ Raju said.
The film ‘Dil’, which marked the first association between VV Vinayak and Raju, turned out to be a massive success and also ended up as a prefix to the producer’s name. Vinayak though hasn’t been in the best of forms of late. His recent films, ‘Akhil’ and ‘Intelligent’ were received poorly by the audience and critics alike.
