Maritime Museum
The Visakhapatnam Port Trust is planning to open a maritime museum on maritime history in the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse situated at the port has been renovated and was made open for the public last year. Vizag has been a part of the maritime history since time immemorial and had trade relations with the Middle East and Rome. The Lighthouse was the original landmark of the Visakhapatnam Port and will be the perfect place to serve as a repository of maritime information.
The main aim of the Museum would be to educate people on the rich history of the port and its evolution through the years. The museum will also be an ideal place to store and display important artifacts.
A museum on the history of the port and maritime history will also attract a lot of tourists.
