When Rahul is gay – a play to mainstream the LGBT community

A huge section of the Indian community have accepted the LGBT community with open arms but still a long way is to be covered for them to get equal rights in the Indian society and the constitution. Thanks to the open minded entertainment industry who has been taking steps to normalise same sex love. To add weight to the efforts, director Jeff Goldberg is coming up with a play named – When Rahul is gay, and we were never more exited.

The play opens this weekend and stars Jackky Bhagnani, Prateik Babbar and Vikas Mandaliya. The play tells the story of a rape victim who finds solace in the arms of his close friend until his boyfriend turns up. This interesting story is an adaptation of LB Hamilton’s – ‘A Midnight Clear’ and will surely reach to a large number of people depending on the fact that it has mainstream Bollywood actors.
Director Jeff says that he got touched when after the Orlando Gay Nightclub rampage took place and that was when he decided to take measures to normalise the LGBT love. He also said that the leading actors understand the sensitivity of the topic and are also aware of the responsibility they carry while doing such roles.
We hope that this play brings out a positive change in peoples way of looking towards the gay crowd and will also help to lower down hatered towards the LGBTQ community. Well, we wish him all the luck and hope that it does good to the LGBT community.
