In another case of stampede, nine persons died and several others sustained injuries at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Kasibugga of Srikakulam district on 1 November.

According to reports, devotees in large numbers thronged the temple to have a darshan of the God on the occasion of the auspicious Ekadasi in the ‘Karthika masam’.

The injured persons were admitted to a local hospital.
