Four persons, including one from Kancharapalem in Visakhapatnam, died due to heavy rain that battered several parts in North Andhra on 2 October. The other deceased persons were from Mandasa in Srikakulam district and Parvatipuram. This was informed to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu by officials during a video conference on 3 October.
The Chief Minister, who took stock of the situation in the wake of extensive damage due to the rain in the three districts of North Andhra, directed the officials to clear all the fallen trees on roads and restore power supply in the affected areas by night.
The Chief Minister announced an ex gratia of Rs. 4 lakh each to the kin of those who died due to rains.
Officials explained the extent of damage in their districts to the Chief Minister.
