10 super fun things to do this Ganesh Chaturthi because why not!

Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival filled with lots of devotion, fun and spirituality. With the passing time, new and interesting things have taken over the traditional practices used in the festival celebrations and we cannot thank technology enough. Here is a list of fun things that you could do to make your Ganesh Chaturthi more happening while being in harmony with your surroundings. Take notes.

Bring home an Eco- Friendly idol of Ganpati Bappa

This Ganesh Chaturthi, welcome an eco- friendly idol of Lord Ganesha. Lots of shops this year are selling clay idols. And if you want to awaken the artist in you, then make one yourself

!

Cook some different and yummy prasad

Try out new Ganesh Chaturthi special recipes. Offer something new to Ganpati Bappa because regular modaks are too mainstream. Make modaks and laddoos of various kinds! Let this festival be as sweet as possible!

Don’t be afraid to gain some holiday weight

This need not be said at all actually, since you will obviously eat all the delicious sweets prepared by you.  Ganesh Chaturthi comes only once a year! ( so do all the other festivals btw 😛 )

Wear some ethnic clothes

Dress up in new and colourful attires. Wear Kurta Pyjamas and beautiful sarees in puja. Mix and match and don’t let your style quotient down!

Make your own pandal!

Take a small table and put your Ganesha idol on it. Take a chiffon cloth and make it like a tent on top of the idol. Decorate with cherry lights and flowers or anything you wish. Let your creativity run high! You can also use thermocol sheets and printed papers to give your pandal a unique look.

Take a tour of all the pandals

Visit several pandals of the city with your gang and don’t forget to break a leg to the peppy songs played over there! Update your Instagram with beautiful pictures of Ganesh idols and make your friends jealous.

Keep it Clean

Don’t get too carried away with the celebrations, remember to keep you surroundings clean! Use dustbins to dispose off waste and help your city to be clean and disease free.

Don’t keep it too boring!

Even Ganapati  Bappa needs some entertainment, play soothing bhajans and also some groovy numbers, but not too loud. You don’t want the neighbours to complain, do you?

Dance it out during the Visarjan

Bid audieu to Lord Ganesha in full glory. Dance your heart out while shouting “Ganapatti Bappa Morya!” Show that you are no less than others and let your legs pain in the name of happiness. Pain Balm can always come to your rescue later.

Try not to cry

I know it is  hard to let go of Lord Ganesha after the celebrations but he has to go. Don’t worry, he will come back next year! And we will welcome him with the same amount of enthusiasm. “Ganapatti Bappa Morya, agle baras tu jaldi aa!” is sure to echo in your ears for a long time.
