AP CM Chandrababu Naidu launches smart bikes in the state

Moving towards the goal of building Andhra Pradesh as a green state, the state government is all set to introduce several green initiatives. As a part of the same, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu launched smart cycles in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. Sharing the news on his Facebook handle, the Chief Minister commented, “Inaugurated Smart Bike at the Secretariat, today. Amaravati is being developed as a green capital, with healthy and environment-friendly commute options.”

The CM informed that the area will have two stations that will house 10 cycles each. The cycle users will have a specialized smart swiping card and password to be able to access these bikes. It has also been informed that the cycles have been imported from Germany with each cycle costing about Rs 1 lakh. Mr. Naidu said that the CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) has also been suggested that the officials should soon set up a cycle-manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh.

Reportedly, the Chief Minister suggested building the pickup stations with air conditioning, solar panels, and seating arrangement.

The state government is even planning to implement smart cycle zones to promote an eco-friendly environment.
