Here are the 5 reasons why you need to watch Padmaavat

Amidst multiple controversies and a lot of media frenzy, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat has finally hit the screens. The movie stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles and is one of Bollywood’s biggest releases this year. Come this long weekend and the film enthusiasts would be keen to watch this much-awaited film. So here are the 5 reasons why you need to watch Padmaavat.

#5 Sanjay Leela Bhansali

SLB is widely hailed as a master when it comes to filming stories which are “larger than life”. Be it Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, or even Ramleela, the director had aced it when it came down to delivering such epics with a typical finesse. The characters are chalked out perfectly and the entire setting, where the story unfolds, takes the cinematic experience to a whole new level. Padmaavat is no different. Even though the movie rides on a typically slow narrative, it does manage to qualify as an “SLB-product”.

#4 The film’s opulence

Padmaavat is a treat to watch on the silver screen. Its grandeur, which reflects the royal lives of the ancient kingdoms, will make you drop your jaw. The cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee is top-notch and the film truly succeeds in leaving a long-lasting visual experience on its audience.

#3 Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone in Padmaavat

Much similar to her roles in Ramleela and Bajirao Mastani, Deepika Padukone excels in delivering a brilliant performance as Rani Padmavati. With an inspired performance and a terrific screen presence, Deepika surely does her best to portray the iconic role.

#2 A tribute to the Rajputs

Padmaavat emerges as a true tribute to the valour, honour, and sacrifice of the Rajputs. The film consists of multiple scenes which exemplify the greatness of Rajputs. It provides an opportunity for all to get to know a story which stands as a testimony to one of the greatest sacrifices in Indian history.

#1 Ranveer Singh

One man who stands out in the entire film is Ranveer Singh. Playing the role of Alauddin Khalji, Ranveer keeps your eyes glued to the screen with yet another riveting performance. He gets into the skin of a character that deals with the darker shades of betrayal and lust. Singh, with his unmatched screen presence, easily forms the top reason to watch Padmaavat.
