Multi Level Parking at 3 locations and Anna Canteens by GVMC coming soon.

The Greater Vizag Municipal Corporation has major plans for Vizag. They may be coming sooner rather than later.

Multi level parking:The site for the multi level parking at Jagadamba Junction has been finalised. The details of the proposed parking solution will be out soon. Municipal Commissioner has expressed confidence in the multi level parking initiative in talks with reporters. As informed earlier, two more are being planned. The integrated museum complex is going to have one. The other multi level parking zone  is going to come up near VUDA office on it’s site.

Anna Canteens: Subsidised Anna Canteens are being planned at various points by GVMC. 25 locations have been finalised so far. The areas with the largest floating population are being shortlisted. Some of these are RTC Complex, Malkapuram Industrial Area and Zone III areas. The objective is to make food available at subsidised rates. The canteens will supply breakfast and lunch is whichever buildings they are located in. Free standing kiosks are the other model to be followed.

Taking an example from those in Hyderabad, the food quality will not be compromised in Anna Canteens. Going by the reports of The Hindu the initiative is being worked out this way. ISKON and Akshyapatra will be the food providers. Private parties are not being invited for catering.
